I just signed the petition "National Congress: In defense of Brazilian Public Universities" and I wanted to know if you can help by signing it too.

Our goal is to get 3,000,000 signatures and we need more support. You can read more about this subject and sign the petition here:

THE NAME OF FREINET IS NOT FOR SALE

Posted in

We are surprised and sorry to discover that in recent years, school directors from various parts of the world have been trying to make Freinet's name a national label  that gives them the right to control the productions of their colleagues as well as Royalties.

FIMEM strongly opposes this process:

Freinet's name belongs to his own family and they alone can decide how to use it .. and especially ..

I was not in Sweden during the last Ridef anyway I followed through the narration of some participants, the great part the Italian ones, and when I read Andy writing I completely agree with him and his notes about :

The BD of the FIMEM needs more helping hands. Andi

The new Board of Directors BD of the FIMEM has only four members, which isn’t sufficient according to the statues and the work to be done.

Votre opinion sur le plan Bolonia

Dear friends,

from Uruguay we have a big doubt about the "plan Bolonia" or the "Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior", because this will be applied to our Univesity. We need to know the Movement Freinet ´s opinion about this.
And if you have done some evaluation or where could we read it, any link, information about it.

From Uruguay, we are distrustful... so we need to know more and we need to question this plan.

You will help us a lot if you share with us your experience and opinions.

We are  thinking with you and support you in your self-management process.

We condemn these absurd attacks, aimed at reducing the right to democracy and self-government.

We wish you all the courage to continue on the path you have chosen and congratulate you on your perseverance despite the attempts at intimidation you are undergoing.

INFOR 65: letter from the President

After four years in the CA, in this last letter I want to analyze and express my opinion on some of the issues that have worried me, especially the last two years I've been the president of the FIMEM.

The General Assembly of the International Federation of Modern School - Freinet pedagogy (FIMEM), gathered on July 23, 2014 in Reggio nell' Emilia on the occasion of the 30th International Meeting of Freinet educators (RIDEF), condemns the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip, which already lead to death, including children and young people, many injured and considerable damage to homes and infrastructure.
